I once heard a tale about a Shadow Man who takes little children away.

It does not matter if you are asleep, or outside enjoying your day.

If the Shadow Man sees you, and you see him back, then you can be certain that one thing is true.

Your days are numbered and you won’t find slumber, for the Shadow Man has plans for you.

He follows as you walk, or run, jump & play, and he always stays out of sight.

For the Shadow Man only wants to be seen when the timing is perfectly right.

It’s his choice, you see, and his all alone, that determines when you disappear.

And nothing will sway him or even delay him, and his power is fed by your fear.

I’ve heard it before and I’ll say it again – the Shadow Man does exist.

Try not to fight him or hit him or bite him; he likes it when children resist.

When the time comes to take you, the clouds will turn gray, and your walls will fill with the faces,

Of the children before you who were taken by him from so many different places.

They’ll stare at your eyes with a look of surprise, and no way to tell you to run.

For the Shadow Man knows that there’s no where to go, and he can’t wait to start with the fun.

He has a name, oh he certainly does, but I cannot tell you quite yet.

But you’ll find out soon, and when you do, you’ll immediately feel the regret.

For once you know the name of the thing that takes little children away.

Your time has come, there’s no time to prepare. The Shadow Man will make you play.

You’ll first feel his breath and the edge of his cloak, as he hovers over your bed.

And when that happens, it’s important you know that your time has come – you are dead.
